The Milwaukee Bucks took a direct shot at the Miami Heat and the Tampa Bay Rays after both teams fell to losses on October 26.
Monday, October 26, was a rare Sports Equinox, which saw the major U.S. sports leagues all play games as well as the WNBA. The MLB World Series had the Rays play the Milwaukee Brewers while the NBA had the Miami Heat playing the Dallas Mavericks.
Both Florida-based teams fell to losses, as the Rays lost 10-1 to fall to an 0-3 series deficit, while the Heat lost 113-109 to remain winless for the season with their fourth straight loss with former Buck Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Bucks mark first win of the season with a shot at Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Heat
After the Bucks picked up a 110-102 win over the Indiana Pacers for their first win of the 2026-27 NBA season, they aimed a shot at the winless Heat and Rays.
“Bad day to be a Florida sports fan.”
While the Bucks’ home MLB team beat the Rays, making the MLB connection even more obvious, it was clearly also a shot at the winless Heat with Milwaukee’s former franchise cornerstone now leading them.
Multiple players the Heat traded to the Bucks stepped up for them in their win, including Tyler Herro (23 PTS, 10 REB, 7 AST), Kel’el Ware (16 PTS, 14 REB), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (8 PTS, 6 REB), and Kasparas Jakucionis (7 PTS, 4 REB, 5 AST).
Giannis has been on song for the Heat, posting a triple-double with 29 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in Miami’s loss to the Mavericks. However, the Heat’s supporting cast just have not been able to show up consistently enough outside point guard Davion Mitchell.
Antekounmpo is averaging 28.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists with the Heat, finding himself in a similar situation to his final few seasons with the Bucks where the team could not win despite Giannis’ incredible production.
Aiming a shot at arguably the greatest player in franchise history is something many are not happy with, but it was a timely joke the social media team felt compelled to make, especially with the Brewers also beating the Rays on the same day.
