Bungoma - Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wamboka has confirmed that the Linda Mwananchi Movement will use its much-anticipated October 30, 2026, event to formally launch its political party, putting an end to weeks of speculation about the nature of the occasion.

Wamboka made the disclosure on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, while attending the burial of the mother of former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli.
He told mourners that the launch would be held in Lavington, Nairobi, before the movement shifts attention to the coast.
"We will be launching our Linda Mwananchi party officially on Friday, October 30, 2026, and from there we will be heading to Kwale County, then Turkana and then we shall come back to Western," Wamboka said.
Kwale rally to follow Nairobi launch
Following the Lavington ceremony, the movement plans to hold a public rally in Kwale County on October 31, 2026.
The Kwale event will mark the movement's first major public political gathering after an extended break from holding rallies, and signals the beginning of its coastal mobilisation drive.
The October 30 date had already been circulating widely on social media, with Linda Mwananchi supporters promoting the event without clarifying its purpose. Wamboka's remarks have now provided the clearest picture yet of what the movement intends to do.
Sifuna had hinted at party headquarters unveiling
The announcement aligns with earlier remarks by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who had indicated that the movement would unveil its party headquarters in Nairobi before the end of October 2026.
"We will be launching our party headquarters by the end of this month. We will invite you to come," Sifuna had said.
The formal launch is part of the movement's broader effort to transform from The Equitable Party (TEP) into the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM).
That rebranding process is being handled through the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties following a formal request submitted by the movement.
