President Donald Trump has publicly stated his support for Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in the ongoing Mississippi U.S. Senate race. In a recent social media post, Trump emphasized that with Hyde-Smith in the Senate and himself in the White House, they would continue to defend Americans’ Second Amendment rights. Hyde-Smith, the incumbent, is seeking re-election against Democrat Scott Colom and independent Ty Pinkins in a race that has attracted national attention. Trump’s endorsement is seen as a reinforcement of Hyde-Smith’s campaign, particularly in a state where he previously won by a significant margin.

The impact of Trump’s endorsement on Hyde-Smith’s campaign appears consistent with a modest increase in support. While Hyde-Smith leads in recent polls, the competition remains tight, with a notable percentage of voters still undecided. Market pricing on the likelihood of a Democratic victory in the Mississippi Senate race has shown slight movement, with odds currently standing at 13.5% for a Democratic win, up from 12% a week ago.
