SgurrEnergy, an India-headquartered renewable energy consultancy, is targeting 400 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity designed and engineered globally by 2030, following the completion of projects totalling 240 gigawatts across more than 60 countries.
The company, which marked its 24th anniversary in October, said its next phase of growth would focus on expanding its international portfolio, strengthening client partnerships and investing in engineering capabilities and technical talent.
The target represents an additional 160 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity over the next four years, as the consultancy seeks to expand its presence in established and emerging markets.
Arif Aga, director of SgurrEnergy, said achieving the next 160 gigawatts would require the company to look beyond individual projects towards building an energy system capable of integrating renewable power more effectively.

“The next 160 gigawatts will require us to think beyond individual projects and help shape an energy system where renewable power is not only generated at scale, but is increasingly flexible, resilient and integrated into the way global economies consume and manage energy,” Aga said in a note.
Asia accounts for more than 162 gigawatts of SgurrEnergy’s global portfolio, while Oman, South Africa and Australia are among the markets it has identified for further growth.
The company is also adopting artificial intelligence-enabled workflows and analytics to improve engineering precision, optimise project designs and strengthen delivery across markets with different technical standards, grid conditions and regulatory requirements.
It provides technical advisory and engineering services across solar photovoltaic, wind, battery energy storage, hybrid systems, hydropower and grid solutions. Its services cover project development, feasibility studies, technical assessments, engineering design, construction support and long-term asset performance.
The company said renewable energy projects it had designed and engineered had helped avoid an estimated 158.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
The company’s growth strategy is supported by more than 260 engineers and technical professionals based in Pune, India, alongside regional offices in Riyadh, Nairobi, Dallas, Suzhou, Singapore and Dubai.
Its operations span the renewable energy project lifecycle, from resource assessments and bankability studies to procurement support, construction, commissioning, operations and asset repowering.
Founded in 2002, SgurrEnergy operates as an independent renewable energy consulting and engineering company, supporting developers, investors, lenders, utilities and other industry participants across global markets.
