The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has announced activities for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, obtained in Osogbo on Monday, the management said newly admitted students are expected to resume on “Sunday, November 1, 2026, while online registration will commence on Monday, November 2.”
Olarewaju said, “An orientation programme to familiarise the fresh students with the university’s academic environment, rules, regulations, traditions and expectations will hold from Monday, November 2, to Friday, November 6, 2026.”
He said the programme is designed to provide necessary guidance for their smooth transition into university life and prepare them for the responsibilities and opportunities ahead.
The statement added that ICT training for the fresh students will be held from Monday, November 9, to Friday, November 13, 2026, to equip them with essential digital skills and familiarise them with ICT facilities and platforms that will support their academic activities.
“Returning undergraduate students are expected back on campus on Sunday, November 15, 2026, ahead of the commencement of lectures on Monday, November 16, 2026,” the statement read.
The management urged newly admitted and returning students to comply with the schåedule to ensure a seamless take-off of academic activities, while advising parents, guardians and other stakeholders to provide necessary support.
Welcoming the students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Bamire, reiterated his commitment to providing an enabling environment for teaching, learning, research and character development in line with the university’s tradition of academic excellence.
He wished all students a safe return and a productive session.
