Beau Lamarre-Condon’s conversation with a friend about how “sh*t went wrong” on the morning he is accused of killing a couple has been revealed in a secret police recording released by a court.
Mr Lamarre-Condon is accused of murdering TV presenter Jesse Baird, whom he briefly dated, and the man’s new boyfriend Qantas host Luke Davies on February 19, 2024, at the journalist’s Paddington home.
The 31-year-old has pleaded not guilty and is arguing self-defence in a jury trial before the NSW Supreme Court.

An old friend of Mr Lamarre-Condon, who cannot be named for legal reasons, earlier told the jury about how the former police officer said “pew pew” as he told him he had “killed people” on the day of the couple’s deaths.
In December 2025, Mr Lamarre-Condon told the friend to “wear your big boy diapers so we can talk about emotions” in a recorded phone call released by the court.
That same day, the friend wore a listening device while visiting Mr Lamarre-Condon in custody so police could record the chat, with recordings of the call released by the court.
In the conversation, Mr Lamarre-Condon asked the man to “just f**king hear me out” and said “sh*t went wrong”, according to the recording played to the jury.

They also spoke about the man’s police statement in which he wrote that Mr Lamarre-Condon told him he didn’t want to kill the second person but he couldn’t risk leaving any witnesses.
Mr Lamarre-Condon denied saying this, telling the man to “use your brain” and “the truth is you misheard it”.
“Don’t you dare, don’t you dare switch up,” the man says in the recording.
