The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced a $2.5 million contribution from Kuwait to Afghanistan.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 27, OCHA said the Kuwait Fund had allocated the amount to support the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
OCHA added that Kuwait’s support since 2024 has played an important role in sustaining humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has faced growing humanitarian needs in recent years due to the large-scale return of migrants, climate shocks and natural disasters.
According to a United Nations report, approximately 4.9 million people returned to Afghanistan between 2023 and 2025, increasing pressure on limited resources and basic services.
