Decoding Rakul Preet Singh’s look for Ramayana promotions
Dopamine dressing is all about embracing colours that make a statement, and Rakul’s saree brings that idea to traditional Indian wear. The combination of fuchsia, purple and mustard creates a bold colour-blocked effect, while bandhani-inspired detailing and heritage-style borders lend the ensemble a distinctly festive character.
The saree, from the Debyani Malhotra x Swadeshi collaboration features geometric patterns, paisley motifs and intricate borders that add texture to its vivid colour palette. Priced at Rs. 1.99 lakh, the creation combines traditional design elements with a maximalist sensibility, making it a standout choice for the festive season. The look also demonstrates how classic Indian silhouettes can be styled with a more playful approach to colour.
Intricate blouse and traditional detailing elevate Rakul’s festive look
Rakul paired the saree with an intricately detailed, short-sleeved blouse that complemented the vibrant drape. The blouse added to the ensemble’s ornate finish without competing with the saree’s bold colours and patterned borders.
Antique gold temple jewellery adds a traditional touch
The accessories reinforced the saree’s traditional aesthetic. Rakul wore heavy, antique gold-toned jhumkas with dangling ear chains, adding a temple-jewellery influence to the ensemble.
Multicoloured kadas complemented the saree’s palette, tying the accessories into the overall look. The actress completed the outfit with golden embellished juttis, keeping the footwear in tune with the festive styling.

For the glam, Rakul opted for understated makeup that balanced the vivid outfit. Her makeup featured delicately defined eyes, nude-brown lips and softly blushed cheeks, creating a natural finish without overwhelming the ensemble. Her hair was styled with a centre parting, gathered at the nape before cascading in soft waves. The relaxed hairstyle and nude makeup offered a contrast to the saree’s elaborate patterns, statement jewellery and saturated colours.Styled by Ami Patel, the overall look brought together maximalist festive fashion and traditional Indian styling, with each element complementing the saree rather than competing with it.
