ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe Black Day tomorrow, October 27, to convey to the world that India has militarily occupied their homeland illegally and against their will and aspirations since 1947.
The day will be marked by complete shutdown and protest in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
It was on October 27, 1947, when Indian troops in total violation of the spirit of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent invaded Jammu and Kashmir and illegally occupied it against the aspirations and wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Protest marches, rallies and seminars will be held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and all over the world to condemn the invasion of the territory by the Indian Army on October 27, 1947, as well as the revocation of special status under Articles 370 and 35A of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Hindutva BJP government on August 5, 2019.
Call for the observance of Black Day has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other pro-freedom organizations. The APHC leadership in IIOJK asked Kashmiris to honour the sacrifices of martyrs, uphold the stand of jailed leadership and send a loud and clear message to the world that they will not rest till they achieve freedom from the Indian yoke.
The leaders urged the international community to play its role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations and relevant UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, posters have appeared in different areas of occupied Kashmir asking people to make tomorrow’s Black Day successful. The posters described October 27, 1947, as the darkest chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. The posters have also been shared on social media platforms including X, Facebook and WhatsApp.
