Springbok winger Makazole Mapimpi and his wife, Sasha de Sousa, have expanded their family after recently welcoming their second child together. The private couple, who have kept much of their romantic life away from the public eye, gave supporters a rare peek into their growing home life. The quiet celebration marks another joyful milestone for the two-time Rugby World Cup champion off the rugby pitch.
In an Instagram story that has since expired, Sasha shared a sweet post of herself holding their newborn as she announced the beginning of her postpartum journey. As reported by The South African, the lifestyle creator had previously teased her pregnancy with elegant maternity photoshoot portraits while keeping the exact birth details and baby name confidential. Beyond her presence online under the Instagram handle @swazisoil, Sasha is an established corporate professional from Eswatini, working as the General Manager of Operations for an insurance firm while balancing family life.

Mapimpi’s journey on and off the field
Their private romance first became widespread public knowledge when Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus casually shared in a 2024 press briefing that the speedster was granted leave because his wife was giving birth to their first child. The Sharks winger, who made history during South Africa's 2019 final triumph by becoming the first Springbok to score a try in a Rugby World Cup final, has consistently protected his personal life from media attention while continuing his top-flight club and international career.
