Matthew Perry’s ex René Ashton said she and the late actor joined the “mile-high club” on Bruce Willis’ private plane.
“Before he went to shoot ‘The Whole Nine Yards,’ Bruce asked him and I to go to Turks and Caicos with him and his then-girlfriend,” Ashton recalled in the new three-part Netflix documentary, “The One About Matthew Perry.”
She said Perry was “so excited” to travel on the “Die Hard” star’s aircraft.
“He’s like, ‘Bruce wants us to go on his private plane. Bruce wants me to share a plane with him,'” Ashton recalled.
When asked by an offscreen producer what the plane ride was like, the 56-year-old cheekily replied, “I joined a club.”
As for the trip, Ashton said it was “pretty amazing.”
“There weren’t any paparazzi there, so it was a nice, normal and fun trip,” she shared, adding that she was “in love” with the “Friends” alum because he was “at the core, good people.”
Page Six reached out to Willis’ rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Ashton and Perry dated for about a year in 1999.
During their romance, the “Friends In Deadly Places” actress grew concerned about Perry’s escalating struggles with alcohol — even calling his father, John Bennett Perry, for help.
The pair called it quits in December 1999.
Matthew was found dead in his hot tub in October 2023. He was 54.
Per a coroner’s report, the “Fools Rush In” actor died from “acute effects of ketamine,” in addition to drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects.
