The firm is the only blockchain infrastructure company among seven enterprises picked for Hong Kong's 2026 OASES program.
Hong Kong authorities have named Solana Company, a Nasdaq-listed firm, a strategic enterprise under the city's OASES program. The designation was reported by Cointelegraph, CoinTurk News, and BitKE on October 26, 2026.
According to BitKE, Solana Company is the only blockchain infrastructure firm included among seven enterprises named in this year's OASES cohort. The other six companies named operate in different sectors, though specific details on those firms were not provided in the available reporting.
OASES refers to a Hong Kong government program aimed at attracting and supporting enterprises considered strategically important to the city's economic development. CoinTurk News described Solana Company's inclusion as a strategic partnership rather than simply a designation, suggesting the relationship may extend beyond symbolic recognition.
Hong Kong has spent recent years building out its credentials as a digital asset hub. The city has introduced licensing regimes for virtual asset trading platforms and pushed initiatives aimed at drawing blockchain and fintech firms to its financial sector. Naming a Solana-focused company to a strategic enterprise list fits within that broader pattern.
Solana Company's listing on Nasdaq means the firm already operates under U.S. securities disclosure requirements. Its selection by Hong Kong regulators or program administrators indicates the city is willing to recognize companies tied directly to a specific blockchain network, rather than only generalist fintech or infrastructure firms. The Solana network itself has drawn increasing institutional attention over the past two years, partly due to its transaction throughput and growing developer activity.
None of the three reports detailed what specific benefits or obligations come with strategic enterprise status under OASES. Such designations in other jurisdictions have historically included access to government liaison support, expedited regulatory engagement, or inclusion in promotional initiatives meant to attract further investment. Readers should treat the practical implications of the designation as still emerging, pending further disclosure from Hong Kong authorities or the company itself.
The timing also arrives amid a wider competition among financial centers — including Singapore, Dubai, and Hong Kong — to position themselves as preferred bases for blockchain and digital asset companies. Recognition programs like OASES serve partly as a signaling tool in that competition, highlighting which firms a jurisdiction considers aligned with its economic priorities.
Market Impact
The designation could enhance Solana Company's visibility among institutional and government-adjacent audiences in Asia, potentially supporting future partnerships or listings tied to Hong Kong's digital asset ecosystem. Because the firm is the sole blockchain infrastructure enterprise named this year, the recognition may also be read as a signal of which blockchain networks Hong Kong regulators view as strategically relevant.
Broader market effects are likely to remain limited in the near term, since the designation is administrative rather than financial. Any material impact would depend on follow-up actions, such as expanded operations, new licensing, or capital commitments tied to the strategic enterprise status.
Hong Kong's naming of Solana Company as a strategic enterprise adds another data point to the city's ongoing effort to court blockchain-linked businesses. Further details on the program's concrete benefits are expected to clarify the designation's longer-term significance.
