Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was suspended for the Crimson Tide's win over Texas A&M because of his alleged harassment of a university police officer who was involved in a situation that led to his arrest last year.
Kirkpatrick has been charged with two misdemeanors for doxing and harassing communications. According to a complaint filed in Tuscaloosa County District Court, the officer said that he got a "profane" Facebook message from Kirkpatrick this past week.
"[The officer] stated he was immediately alarmed by the message due to prior involvements with Kirkpatrick in November 2025, during which [the officer] conducted a traffic stop and Kirkpatrick eluded [the officer] and other officers on the scene," according to a deposition.
The officer told police that when he went to Kirkpatrick's profile to block him, he saw a photo of himself, his wife and their two children with the caption, "Dis him?"
The officer said the post caused "severe concern for the overall safety and well-being of himself and his family," given the "substantial audience and public following" Kirkpatrick has as an Alabama football player.
Kirkpatrick was suspended for the rest of the season in November 2025 after he was arrested on three counts of reckless endangerment and a count of attempting to elude and speeding. He had nine tackles in eight games in 2025.
Before the A&M game, Kirkpatrick had appeared in all seven of Alabama's games and had a forced fumble.
Kirkpatrick is the son of former Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick. After three seasons with the Crimson Tide from 2009-11, the elder Kirkpatrick was a first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played eight seasons with the Bengals before a season with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 and then a final season with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021.
