KUWAIT CITY: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has outlined an eight-step electronic system for verifying salary payments through its digital link with the Central Bank of Kuwait, The Arab Times reported on Monday.
According to PAM, the process begins when an employer submits a salary disbursement request and ends with the electronic transmission of payment results to the authority.
In a recent report, PAM detailed the eight stages of the process: submission of a salary disbursement request, processing by the Central Bank of Kuwait, receipt of salary data by the employer’s bank, verification of the data against registered employee records, data validation, execution of the payment, generation of payment results, and electronic transmission of those results to PAM.
The authority said the electronic integration aims to strengthen oversight of salary payments, facilitate the preliminary verification of disbursement transactions and eliminate manual procedures between banks.
The system is also designed to align regulatory checks with actual payment outcomes and ensure the accurate identification of employees eligible to receive their salaries.
Thousands of companies flagged in Kuwait over non-payment of employee salaries
Earlier, the PAM had flagged thousands of private sector employers for failing to disburse employee wages on time.
According to official figures released by the authority, out of 48,408 registered business files involving establishments with five or more workers, a striking 8,849 employer files have been officially flagged for salary payment violations.
Meanwhile, 39,559 files remain in full compliance with the nation’s rigorous wage-protection regulations, underscoring both persistent compliance challenges and the government’s active monitoring framework.
