An early 14-point lead wasn't enough for the Tennessee Titans to defeat the Cleveland Browns at home in Week 7. The offense stalled for the majority of the second and third quarters, while the defense was gashed for 491 yards from the Browns' offense.
A last-second field goal (after a missed false start) was the nail in the coffin in the Titans' 27-24 loss. After being inactive for the Titans' win over the Colts last week, CB Alontae Taylor was active this week. However, he didn't receive a defensive snap in the loss.
Here’s a look at the snap counts from Tennessee's Week 7 loss to the Browns.
- Offensive snaps: 63
- Defensive snaps: 70
- Special teams snaps: 27
The Titans had their best game in the time of possession column, only losing it by 31:14 minutes to 28:46. While they still lost that battle, along with the defense playing more snaps than the offense again, the Titans' offense looked more competent as the running game got it rolling early.
At the end of the day, a loss is still a loss, so the team will have to regroup ahead of their matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this week. A much-needed bye week is coming up following their trip to Cincinnati this Sunday.
