OUTLOOK:Abbott Tech has won five CTC titles in the last six years, and enters this year's tournament as the No. 3 seed. This year the Wolverines have only lost one conference game against Bullard-Havens and tied Platt Tech, but hasn't played either of the top two seeds in Ellis Tech and Wilcox Tech. Ellis Tech defeated Wilcox Tech in their regular season meeting, but tied Cheney Tech and Grasso Tech twice. Cheney Tech also tied Wilcox Tech.

FCIAC
DEFENDING CHAMPION: Staples
TOURNAMENT DATES: Quarterfinals, Wednesday, Oct. 28; Semifinals, Saturday, Oct. 31 at Fairfield Ludlowe; Final, Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Fairfield Warde, 6 p.m.
TOP PLAYERS:
Joe Carroll, Greenwich, Sr., F/M; Anthony Moura, Trumbull, Sr., F; Adrian Rodriguez, Staples, Jr., F; Magnus Smail, Stamford, Sr., G.
FAVORITES: Staples, Stamford, Greenwich, Trumbull
DARK HORSES: Ridgefield, Danbury, Wilton, Warde
OUTLOOK:
Last year Staples won its first FCIAC title since 2010, defeating Greenwich for the title in coach Liam Witham's first season. Now Staples enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed and clear favorite to repeat as champion, but there it won't be an easy road. The only blemish on Staples' record this season was a 0-0 tie against No. 2 seed Stamford, which also tied No. 4 seed Greenwich and defeated No. 3 seed Trumbull. Stamford's only losses this season came against No. 6 seed Danbury and No. 5 seed Ridgefield (Danbury also beat Greenwich). Even No. 7 seed Warde has posted ties against Stamford and Trumbull while No. 8 seed Wilton defeated Trumbull and tied Greenwich. There are no easy victories in this loaded tournament.

SHORELINE
DEFENDING CHAMPION:
Haddam-Killingworth
TOURNAMENT DATES:Quarterfinals, Tuesday, Oct. 27; Semifinals, Friday, Oct. 30; Final, Monday, Nov. 2 at Valley Regional.
TOP PLAYERS:
Frank Chiurillo, Cromwell, Jr., F; Tristen Edwards, Haddam-Killingworth, Sr., F; Paul Malaguti, Valley Regional, So., GK; Esteban Orozco, Morgan, Sr., F.
FAVORITES:Haddam-Killingworth, Cromwell, East Hampton
DARK HORSES: Old Saybrook, Morgan
OUTLOOK:Defending champion Haddam-Killingworth, led by striker Tristen Edwards, is the No. 1 seed as it attempts to defend its conference title, but the Shoreline as a whole has been difficult to read. The Cougars have lost to both Cromwell and Morgan this season. Cromwell's kryptonite seems to be East Hampton, which it lost to twice in the regular season, but East Hampton lost to Haddam-Killingworth and Valley Regional. Old Saybrook has lost to H-K, Morgan and Cromwell, and tied East Hampton. This conference is a bit of a free-for-all, and is extremely unpredictable.
Shoreline Schedule

Tuesday, Oct. 27, at higher seeds
No. 6 Valley Regional at No. 3 East Hampton, 4 p.m.
No. 5 Old Saybrook at No. 4 Morgan, 6 p.m.

SWC
DEFENDING CHAMPION:Weston
TOURNAMENT DATES:Quarterfinals, Tuesday, Oct. 27; Semifinals, Thursday, Oct. 29; Final, Sunday, Nov. 1 at Western Connecticut State University, 6:30 p.m.
TOP PLAYERS:Kacper Bos, Weston, Sr., F; Anthony Diaz, New Milford, Sr., M; Mads Leary, Weston, Sr., M; Kevin Ly, Bethel, Sr., F;
FAVORITES:
New Milford, Weston, Bethel
DARK HORSES:
Masuk, Pomperaug, New Fairfield
OUTLOOK:Bethel has reached the SWC championship in each of the last three seasons, and won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, but last year it was Weston that emerged victorious 2-1 in the championship game. Both Bethel and Weston are likely candidates to return to the final, but New Milford is the true favorite as the No. 1 seed this year after an undefeated regular season in which it went 15-0-1 with its lone tie against Bethel and a win over Weston. Weston (13-1-2) defeated Bethel in the regular season but tied both Pomperaug and Masuk. Bethel (9-2-5) lost to Weston and New Fairifeld, and tied New Milford, Masuk and Pomperaug.

No. 5 New Fairfield at No. 4 Bethel
No. 7 Joel Barlow at No. 2 Weston
