Holiday bookings to the Balearics have risen by 28.8 per cent over the past seven days compared with the same period in 2025, and by 5.7 per cent compared with the previous week, according to figures published on Monday by the booking platform Travelgate.
The Balearics are the sixth most popular destination in Spain, accounting for 7.5 per cent of bookings for the week, behind Catalonia (19.1 per cent), the Canary Islands (16.5 per cent), Andalusia (16.4 per cent), the Community of Madrid (14.3 per cent) and the Valencian Community (10.9 per cent).
A quarter of the bookings made this week – 24.3 per cent – were made more than three months in advance of the holiday. 14.3 per cent of bookings were made between 15 and 30 days in advance, and 14.1 per cent between 31 and 60 days. 12.6 per cent of bookings fall into the ‘last-minute’ category, meaning those made 24 hours before or on the very day the trip begins.
Of the bookings recorded this week, 49.4 per cent were made by couples, and 49.9 per cent were for stays of between two and five nights. As for source markets, Spanish travellers lead the way with 49.1 per cent of all holiday bookings made during the week on Travelgate, followed by British travellers (20.1 per cent), Germans (4.3 per cent) and Americans (2.8 per cent).
