Pedri has been named a joint winner of the 2026 Canary Islands Sports Award, with the Canary Islands government recognising the Barcelona midfielder’s outstanding career and achievements with Spain.
The 23-year-old shares the award for best individual career with fellow footballer Yeremy Pino and wrestler Eusebio Ledesma, adding another distinction to a collection of honours that already includes domestic titles, European glory and a World Cup triumph.
For Pedri, who has consistently expressed pride in his Canarian roots, the award carries significance beyond his growing list of football achievements.
It is recognition from his homeland of a career that has reached remarkable heights despite his young age.

The midfielder shares the distinction with Yeremy Pino and wrestler Eusebio Ledesma. The three award winners are scheduled to receive their honours on November 13 at the Canary Islands Physical Activity and Sport Fair.
It is not the first time Pedri has received recognition from his home region. He was honoured in 2024 after another memorable season, making this latest award a continuation of the appreciation he has earned in the Canary Islands.
Born in Tegueste, Tenerife, Pedri has regularly shown his connection to the islands throughout his career.
His success with Barcelona and Spain has given that regional pride an international stage, and the 2026 award acknowledges the journey from his island roots to the summit of world football.

Pedri’s latest recognition comes after a particularly successful period for both Barcelona and Spain. He helped Barcelona win La Liga and was also part of the Spain squad that conquered the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
His achievements are remarkable given that he will turn only 24 on November 25.
By that age, the midfielder has already collected three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and three Spanish Super Cups with Barcelona, alongside the European Championship and World Cup with Spain.
He has also won the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the best young player in world football.
Pedri is a central figure in Barcelona’s build-up and midfield control, helping dictate the tempo and connect play from midfield. Spain have similarly benefited from his technical quality and composure in possession.
