American rapper Jay-Z, a multiple Grammy Award winner, will perform for the first time at the Super Bowl half-time show next year.
“Anticipation as to who Jay-Z might have guest star at half-time for the big game will now kick off,” the NFL announced on Monday.
NFL added, “Of course, his wife, Beyoncé, will be atop the list. Beyoncé headlined the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show and was a special guest for Super Bowl 50.”
Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy Award winner, will thrill the Super Bowl LXI audience at half-time at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, February 14, 2027, NFL said.
Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner, said having Jay-Z perform at the Super Bowl LXI would be a great experience for fans, adding he “couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring”.
“When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him,” Mr Goodell said.
Jay-Z’d Roc Nation, in collaboration with the NFL, has produced the Super Bowl Halftime Show since 2019, featuring music stars like Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar and last year’s Bad Bunny, among others.
