BUSAN — BEXCO, Busan's exhibition and convention center, has won outside recognition for its use of social media to communicate closely with residents.
BEXCO said on the 27th that it took the top prize in the MICE category at the 16th 2026 Korea SNS Awards, hosted by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It is the second consecutive year the center has won the category.
The Korea SNS Awards select leading organizations in each category based on a comprehensive assessment of how companies and public institutions use social media, their communication capabilities and the competitiveness of their content.
BEXCO scored highly for content planning that draws on the characteristics of the exhibition and convention industry and for promotional strategies tailored to each platform, including Instagram, YouTube and blogs, steadily widening its points of contact with the public.
The center moved beyond simply listing event details, rolling out lively short-form videos shot on site, planned content and events inviting public participation, and cementing its position as a two-way communication channel. Judges also credited BEXCO with conveying its main businesses and the value of the region's tourism and MICE industries in an approachable way, improving public sentiment toward the MICE industry as a whole.
Lee Jun-seung, chief executive of BEXCO, said the award was "the fruit of consistent efforts to communicate at the level of ordinary residents." The CEO added, "We will expand digital communication and opportunities to take part, so that events and useful news are easy and familiar to access."
