Colombo, Oct 26 (Daily Mirror) - The Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has launched an investigation into the circulation of a social media video allegedly defaming the Dematagoda Police, on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
According to the police, the video falsely claims that a youth suspected of writing a traditional “Vas Kavi” (imprecatory poem) on or around October 22, 2026, was summoned to the Dematagoda Police Station and assaulted.
In connection with the circulation of the video, Attorney-at-Law Sudath Wickramaratne was summoned to the CCIB today (26), where a statement was recorded from him.
