The plan, called Family Share, was unveiled on October 25, 2026, at Jacaranda Gardens in Nairobi.
It bundles a Home Fibre subscription with monthly mobile minutes and data, replacing the need for a separate fibre invoice and individual airtime or bundle purchases for each phone line in the household.
What Family Share Offers
Four tiers make up the Family Share range, with fibre speed and mobile allowances increasing across the lower plans.
The entry-level Bronze tier costs KSh 3,749 per month and delivers 40 Mbps fibre alongside 750 minutes and 14 GB of mobile data. Silver, priced at KSh 5,100, steps up to 60 Mbps, 1,000 minutes and 21 GB.
The Gold tier at KSh 7,799 provides 150 Mbps, 1,500 minutes and 33 GB. At the top end, the Diamond tier costs KSh 13,999 and raises the fibre speed to 500 Mbps while keeping the mobile allowance at the same 1,500 minutes and 33 GB as Gold.
The gap between Gold and Diamond represents an additional KSh 6,200 per month purely for the speed upgrade, since the mobile component does not change. Customers moving between the lower tiers receive both faster speeds and larger mobile allowances with each step up.
Both new and existing HomeFibre customers are eligible. Sign-up is available through the My OneApp application, by dialling *400#, or at any Safaricom shop or authorised dealer.
Why Safaricom Is Moving in This Direction
Active Fibre to the Home subscribers have grown by 27%, and the proportion of connected homes holding an active subscription has risen from 66.8% to 71.0%.
The remaining gap between homes that have fibre infrastructure passing them and those with an active paying subscription represents the growth opportunity the company is targeting with this product.
Family Share also gives Safaricom a competitive edge over fixed wireless and rival fibre providers that typically sell internet-only packages without bundled mobile benefits.
The company has positioned the launch as part of its "Pata More" initiative, which aims to deliver greater household value without increasing billing complexity.
For families already operating within the Safaricom ecosystem, the consolidated bill aligns with how many Kenyan households manage expenses through M-PESA, making the switch to a single monthly payment more straightforward.
