Following an already-strong two weeks in the stock market, JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) enabled a powerful one-day rise for Unitree Robotics on Monday, October 27, with a double rating upgrade.
Specifically, the investment bank abandoned its previous ‘Underweight’ – ‘Sell’ – rating in favor of an ‘Overweight’ – ‘Buy’ – recommendation at the start of this week, primarily due to the developments unveiled at the 2026 World Physical AI Conference in Hangzhou, China.
Indeed, CEO Wang Xingxing of the company which trades as Yushu Technology (SHA: 688836), shortened his forecasted timeline for a physical artificial intelligence (AI) breakthrough from 10 to between 1 and 2 years.
Such a development could facilitate the advanced application of the technology in the real world, in a class of advancements that are likely to be pivotal for Unitree Robotics’ humanoid robot business.
JPMorgan sets Unitree stock price target for the next 12 months
Meanwhile, JPMorgan also revised its previous 12-month price target for the firm trading as Yushu Technology from ¥300 ($44.99) to ¥955 ($143.21), as part of its bullish reassessment.
Notably, Unitree conducted its initial public offering (IPO) in late August, and spent its first month in the stock market on a general decline. Between its first close on August 19 and October 15, the equity dropped as much as 52.06%.
Still, the robotics company’s fortunes started reversing by October 15, and Unitree’s shares have rallied 57.98% since, despite the 4.77% correction to ¥639.96 ($95.97) during China’s Tuesday, October 27 regular trading session.
Are Elon Musk’s Optimus humanoid robot predictions behind Unitree’s strong rally?
Meanwhile, the sudden Yushu Technology rally could have also been linked to the recent remarks made by Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) and SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) CEO Elon Musk, who pushed the shipping of the Optimus humanoid robot to late 2027, citing joint construction and software issues.
CEO Wang Xingxing’s remarks indicating that some of the problems Tesla is facing might get solved first in the People’s Republic, paired with the fact that Unitree is generally seen as China’s primary humanoid robot firm, could serve as strong tailwinds for the Hangzhou-based company’s stock
