Trump Repeatedly Calls Out Daylight Saving Delay Before Clock Change

President Donald Trump has renewed his calls for the Senate to make daylight saving time permanent, warning lawmakers that they have only days to act before clocks go back across most of the United States on November 1.

Speaking at a rally in Mississippi on Monday, Trump called the twice-yearly clock change "ridiculous," adding that it "drives everyone crazy."

The president said most people want more daylight in the evening rather than in the morning, and that Americans "don't want to have to go all over the place changing their clocks."

He criticized the Senate for failing to advance the Sunshine Protection Act, which passed the House earlier this year but remains stalled in the upper chamber.

"That bill, however, remains locked in the Senate, meaning daylight saving time will end as scheduled to the disappointment of many, many Americans," he said.

Trump also called on lawmakers to act in a Truth Social post, writing on Monday: "The United States Senate is letting the Daylight Saving Bill die, when a vast Majority of the Country want it. Most people are demanding light in the evening, but ALL want not to change their clocks anymore."

This is a developing story. More to follow.
