ULB Polls: Tripura CM reviews city's development initiatives, municipal services

Eyeing on upcoming Urban Local Body polls, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today held an interaction with corporators and officials of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) to review the city’s overall development, improvement of civic services and measures to enhance transparency and efficiency in administrative functioning.

The meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister at the AMC conference hall, focused on the progress of various development works, implementation of projects and the challenges being faced by elected representatives and officials in delivering civic services across different wards.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the positive changes in administrative functioning, increased transparency and the growing use of digital systems to accelerate official work.

At the beginning of the meeting, AMC Additional Commissioner Mihir Kanti Gope presented a detailed overview of various aspects of the city’s development, supported by statistical data. The Chief Minister subsequently interacted directly with corporators from different wards and AMC officials.

During his interaction with officials, Dr. Saha sought details about the implementation of various projects, the use of digital systems and the changes brought about by digitisation in terms of work speed and administrative efficiency.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that the working culture of the Municipal Corporation has undergone significant positive changes over the past five to six years. Transparency in the implementation of various projects has increased, while administrative processes have gradually become more streamlined, efficient and responsive.

Describing these developments as positive, the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction. He also emphasized the importance of close coordination between elected representatives and officials to ensure better civic services for citizens and timely, transparent implementation of development projects.

AMC Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder said that Agartala, along with other parts of the state, has been witnessing sustained development. He noted that transparency in the implementation of various development projects has increased considerably and the pace of work has also improved.

Majumder also highlighted the successful and orderly conduct of this year’s Durga Puja celebrations in Agartala, attributing it to the collective cooperation and coordination of all stakeholders. He expressed gratitude to the elected representatives, officials, employees and others involved in ensuring the smooth conduct of the festivities.

Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, along with corporators from various wards, officials and employees of the Municipal Corporation, were also present at the meeting.
