De Facto reveals brutality of Belarusian border guard people smugglers

LTV's investigative programme "De facto" revealed on October 25th that migrants on the Belarusian side of the Latvian border are visited by people in uniform who check whether they have paid for their illegal border crossing attempts. If this has not happened, then the debtor is sent to damage Latvian border infrastructure by way of recompense. In case of refusal, physical assault can be expected.
