Iran has dismissed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threats to overthrow its government as “empty threats” and a sign of desperation, insisting that the outcome of Israel’s election would make no difference to Tehran.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei made the remarks on Monday, accusing Israel’s political factions of competing over violence and saying neither electoral outcome would change Iran’s position.

The comments come amid heightened tensions between the two countries following reports that Netanyahu had directed Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, and the military to pursue the removal of Iran’s leadership.
The exchange underscores the continuing hostility between Tehran and Jerusalem as threats of further confrontation persist.
