Travis Kelce vs Patrick Mahomes: Inside their luxury homes and estates

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes work side by side at Arrowhead, but their real estate looks very different. Kelce has spread roughly $12 million across three states: a $995,000 home in Kansas City, a $6 million mansion in Leawood, Kansas, and a $5.35 million lakefront estate in Bratenahl, Ohio, bought in March 2026.

Mahomes has gone deep instead of wide. He built a custom estate in Belton, Missouri, and owns a Texas house. Here is how the two portfolios compare, and what the numbers can't tell you.

Travis Kelce vs Patrick Mahomes: Who has the bigger property portfolio?

On paper, Travis Kelce owns more houses and has spent more on them. Add up his three reported purchases and you land near $12.3 million. When the New York Post ran the numbers in early 2023, Mahomes held an $8 million portfolio across four properties, three of them in Missouri.

His Belton estate alone is now pegged at $8 million or more by home-tour sites. That comparison needs a warning label. A purchase price is not a market value, and celebrity home figures often come from listings, county records and educated guesses rather than official statements. Still, the shape of each portfolio is clear. Kelce collects addresses in different places. Mahomes puts his money into one place and builds it up.

Geography backs that up. Kelce is the only one with reported property in Missouri, Kansas and Ohio. Nothing public ties Mahomes to Kansas or Ohio. His footprint is Missouri, plus one stop in Texas, the state he grew up in.

How Travis Kelce built a three-state map?

The first piece arrived in 2019. Realtor.com described a 4,200-square-foot house in Kansas City's Briarcliff West neighborhood, bought for $995,000. One report says he still owns it, though it is no longer his main home. The big move came in late 2023. Kelce paid about $6 million for a gated estate in Leawood, Kansas. It covers roughly 17,000 square feet on just over three acres, beside Hallbrook Country Club. County records listed the buyer as an LLC based in Rocky River, Ohio. The grounds read like a weekend camp. Reports mention a pool, lit pickleball and tennis courts and a mini golf course, plus a theater, wine cellar and gym. The house sits in Tomahawk Creek Estates, a development with only 14 estates, so privacy comes built in. It also gained fame as an address, since Kelce reportedly proposed to Taylor Swift in the backyard.

The Ohio mansion that brings Travis Kelce closer to home

The newest purchase feels the most personal. Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, and in 2026 he bought a $5.35 million lakefront mansion in Bratenahl. The Wall Street Journal reported the sale on September 1, and the deal reportedly set a record for Bratenahl. The house dates to 1895 and has about 21,240 square feet on 3.5 acres overlooking Lake Erie. It has eight bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, a media room, a spa, a resort-style pool and a five-car garage.

Figurati Construction Group bought it in 2023 for $1.95 million, renovated it and sold it on to Kelce. Local reports say the ballroom once hid a speakeasy during Prohibition.Kelce married Swift on July 3 in New York City, a few months after closing on the Ohio house. Reports say the couple is also house-hunting in New York, so Bratenahl may end up as a retreat rather than a base.

Why Patrick Mahomes keeps building in one corner of Missouri?

Mahomes started small. In December 2017 he paid $350,000 for a Kansas City condo, below the $475,000 asking price.

A $1.8 million purchase on West 57th Street followed in January 2019, a 4,300-square-foot house. Then came the 2020 contract extension worth up to $450 million, and a bolder bet. In September that year he bought an eight-acre lot in Belton. Benzinga put the price at roughly $400,000, although some listing sites show a higher figure.Instead of buying a finished mansion, he built one. The estate sits in Loch Lloyd, a gated community about 20 miles south of downtown Kansas City.

Reports describe a private football field, a par-3 golf hole, a pool, and a home theater. The $8 million figure is an estimate, not an appraisal.Mahomes also kept a link to home. Around the start of the pandemic, he bought an 8,000-square-foot house in Westlake, Texas, for $3.4 million.

What the two strategies say about the players?

Kelce's purchases track his life. A first real house as a rising tight end came in 2019. A private fortress arrived once his fame grew.

A hometown mansion followed when he became a husband. Each deal added a new state and a new chapter.Mahomes' map is tighter because his life is tighter. He is the franchise quarterback, he has young children, and his backyard doubles as a practice field. Keeping home and work within a short drive makes sense for that job.One gap is worth stating plainly. Neither player has shared rental income, appreciation or returns, so calling these houses investments is partly guesswork. They are also places to live, host and hide. The next entry may land in New York, where Kelce is reportedly searching, while no new Mahomes purchase has surfaced in recent coverage.
