The American Family Field World Series watch party sold out within 15 minutes. The Brewers said it sold 31,000 tickets for the Game 3 and Game 4 watch parties.
Seventeen MLB teams averaged fewer fans for regular season home games this year. The 31,000 fans is much more than the 20,000 fans who watched Game 4 of the National League Championship Series at American Family Field.
The Journal Sentinel spoke with fans who missed out on the watch party. They said they were waiting in the ticket queue around 10 minutes before it opened and still failed to get seats.
Roni Marie Maki, a Watertown resident, said one minute she saw dozens of sections available for the watch party. There was a technological glitch that required her to try and repurchase tickets, and all those seats were gone minutes later when she was trying to purchase seats again.
The watch party was in such demand that some tickets were reselling for around $100.

"I'm not going to be around for another 44 years, so I just think about all the people who can't afford to go," she said.
The Brewers have a comfortable 2-0 series lead in the World Series. Fifty-seven teams have held a 2-0 lead in the Fall Classic, and 81% of those teams went on to win it all. The last team to complete a comeback down 2-0 in a seven-game series was the 2025 Toronto Blue Jays.
More team-sponsored watch parties are in the works, with Game 4 set for Tuesday and Game 5 (if necessary) set for Wednesday night.
