Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo has a pitch for where AI and finance meet. In his view, autonomous AI agents will need tokenized assets and stablecoins if they are going to deploy capital at all.
Domingo made the case on October 22, 2026, during an appearance on Scott Melker’s “The Wolf of All Streets” podcast. His central argument: tokenization is not a niche crypto product. He sees it as basic plumbing for automated, scaled-up trading.
Why an AI agent wants a token, not a brokerage account
According to his argument on the podcast, autonomous agents will depend on tokenized assets and stablecoins to manage capital efficiently.
Tokenized assets are traditional holdings, like stocks or funds, represented on a blockchain. Stablecoins are digital dollars that move on those same networks. Put them together and you get money and assets that software can hold, move, and settle without waiting on legacy systems to clock in.
Domingo did not announce any new products during the conversation. The interview was about the thesis, not a launch.
A busy few months for Securitize
On July 2, 2026, the company listed on the NYSE under the ticker SECZ. It got there through a SPAC merger valued at approximately $1.25 billion.
Securitize’s assets under management exceeded $5 billion in Q3 2026. In early October 2026, the company rolled out tokenized versions of 12 US stocks. The lineup includes household names like Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla.
Then, around October 20, 2026, Securitize announced partnerships with Anchorage Digital Bank covering stablecoin minting and custody. That came just two days before Domingo sat down with Melker.
The regulated route to onchain markets
Securitize’s approach leans heavily on fitting inside existing rules rather than routing around them. The company’s strategy has been to bring traditional financial assets onto blockchains while staying compliant with regulatory standards.
Partnering with a chartered entity like Anchorage Digital Bank for stablecoin minting and custody fits that pattern. So does listing on a traditional exchange like the NYSE. Securitize is pitching itself as the version of crypto infrastructure that institutions can sign off on.
What this means for investors and the market
The most interesting part of Domingo’s argument is the reframing of who the customer is. Tokenization has mostly been sold to humans: retail investors wanting 24/7 access, or institutions chasing faster settlement. Domingo is suggesting the bigger end user could be software.
For SECZ shareholders, the pitch is about positioning. A company with assets under management above $5 billion, tokenized versions of major US stocks, and a stablecoin partner in place is betting it can be early to a market that does not fully exist yet.
There are real questions to watch. How quickly will trading volume in the 12 tokenized stocks grow? Will the Anchorage Digital Bank partnership translate into meaningful stablecoin activity on Securitize’s platform? And how will regulators treat AI agents that hold and trade tokenized securities on behalf of people or firms?
