UAE-based offshore engineering and construction player NMDC Energy has secured three new offshore projects from Saudi Aramco worth a combined AED 2.8bn ($763.3m).
The Abu Dhabi-listed contractor said in a stock exchange filing that it received a letter of award for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work, with the three projects expected to be completed within 18 to 23 months.
While NMDC Energy did not disclose the project names or their individual values, local media reports have linked the awards to Aramco’s contract release and purchase orders (CRPOs) 167, 169 and 171, covering work at the Marjan and Zuluf offshore oilfields.
CRPO 167 is understood to involve the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of eight jackets at the Marjan field, while CRPO 169 covers three production deck modules at the same development. The third package, CRPO 171, involves three production deck modules at the Zuluf field.
The three packages are part of a wider batch of five offshore tenders Aramco issued to contractors operating under its long-term agreement (LTA) framework. Italy’s Saipem has been awarded the remaining two packages.
The latest awards strengthen NMDC Energy’s longstanding relationship with Aramco, which dates back to a long-term agreement signed in 2016. The two companies extended the arrangement by three years in April 2025, with an option for a further three years.
The framework covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of offshore facilities in Saudi waters.
NMDC Energy has also expanded its Saudi manufacturing presence through its 400,000 sq m fabrication yard at Ras Al Khair, which began production last year and has an annual capacity of 40,000 tonnes.
