Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed that defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is no longer a part of the team, a statement confirmed Tuesday, Oct. 27.
“After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program," DeBoer said in a statement. "He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players.”
Kirkpatrick was charged with harassing communications and doxing.
According to court documents obtained by The Tuscaloosa News, Kirkpatrick posted an image of the University of Alabama Police Department officer that conducted a traffic stop on the Alabama defensive back a year ago where he fled and eluded officers and the officer's family. Kirkpatrick's photo included a caption "Dis him?" Kirkpatrick then "proceeded to harass and alarm" the police officer through Facebook Messenger.
Kirkpatrick was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of attempting to elude and speeding in 2025, leading to an indefinite suspension from the Alabama football program.
"He's not with us," Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said of Kirkpatrick at the Monday Morning Quarterback Club Monday, Oct. 26 in Birmingham. "We have an expectation and a standard in our program and team rules, things that go along with that. There's still some details that I'm trying to understand, but it's enough to where we know that that's not how we operate."
Kirkpatrick appeared on Alabama's final SEC availability report Saturday, Oct. 24, before the Crimson Tide faced Texas A&M. In seven games in 2026, Kirkpatrick has five tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble.
