It's nice to know that the United Kingdom has addressed all its problems: there are no longer rape gangs harming British girls, the NHS is no longer backlogged and patients are getting decent care on time, the economy is roaring, and freedom reigns supreme.
None of that is happening, of course, but the British authorities have found the time to address the real issues plaguing the nation: 12-year-old girls and their teddy bear cafes. If that sounds like a joke, it's not.
A girl made a teddy bear cafe, and somehow officials with the Bedford Borough Council caught wind of it, sending an inspector out to check on this illegal cafe.
For those of you who thought the visit from a Bedford Borough Council official to investigate our daughter Zoe’s (age 12) pretend teddy bear cafe was too ridiculous to be real, here is the arrival of official. This is totally legit. She really did show up at our property to… pic.twitter.com/KLJPI6sUcl

The official, who identified herself as Kerri Boydell, a Planning Enforcement Officer, approached the family.
"So just tell us why you are here," said father Brendan Kavanagh. "Because some people said this is a joke so we just want to know why you're here and what's the situation."

"Okay, we've just received a concern raised to the Council that there has been a change of use of a building, that this has been used as a cafe," Boydell said.
"As a cafe. And do you, you don't have to tell us the name but do you have a record of who actually made this complaint?" Kavanagh asks.
"Yes, I do," replied Boydell.
"And do you have an email and a digital footprint?" Kavanagh asked.
"Yes," Boydell said.
"Okay because we don't know how on earth somebody would have, because we do have a cafe, but it's a child's pretend cafe, which my daughter has," Kavanagh explained. "And so we've, obviously it might look realistic, we'll show it to you. We don't know ... we want the $64,000 question. We thought it was quite discreet. Who would have made such a complaint?"
"The complaint was a barn had been has been converted into a cafe," Boydell said. "Part of the complaint, they did mention a website ... I don't know if there was something on there previously or if that's anything to do with you guys at all."
Kavanagh wanted to know how someone found out about his daughter's fake cafe in their private barn in their private home.
Here's the inspection.

"Whoever reported this, I would like our solicitor to make some sort of subject access request," Kavanagh said.
After looking at the barn, Boydell admitted, "I can see it's not a cafe."
All while the authorities turn a blind eye to the vape shops, grooming gangs, and violent Islamist and leftist agitators destroying the country. Because targeting them would be "racist."
Forget dodgy vape shops and suspect American Candy stores, Zoe’s (age 12) pretend teddy bear cafe was threatened with legal action by Bedford Borough Council. Every single day, I am amazed at how far Britain has fallen. In the 87 years that have passed since the start of World War II, Britain has gone from "Keep Calm and Carry On" to "a child's pretend cafe is a problem."
As I have often said, the Left — be it in Britain or America – has no intention of defunding the police or abolishing prisons. Instead of enforcing criminal laws and putting violent offenders behind bars, they will instead repurpose the police and prisons to enforce thought crimes and jail their political opponents. It's much easier to attack a 12-year-old girl's fake cafe and enforce the little laws than it is to remove the Islamist grooming gangs and Antifa goons.
