The Eagles have ruled out starting wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks for their Week 7 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.
Smith will miss his third game of the season with a hamstring injury.
After missing two weeks with the hamstring, Smith returned for the Eagles’ Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. He caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown against Carolina’s secondary.
Smith has struggled with his hamstring dating back to training camp. He re-injured it against the Titans in Week 2. He hasn’t been healthy for the last five weeks.

On Friday, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni didn’t rule out the possibility that the team could shut down Smith for a longer period to help him get healthy.
“I just want him to continue to get better,” Sirianni told reporters. " We’ll see where that goes. He works extremely hard. Nobody takes care of their body like DeVonta Smith. He is such a good example to everybody of how to take care of yourself. He’s the first one in here getting treatment and doing his prehab before practice.
“Sometimes the process doesn’t always produce the results you want, but that’s what you can control, and that’s what’s ultimately going to make you be the best that you can be. It’s been unfortunate there, but we’ll see where he is. I do love how he goes about his business, and regardless of the outcome, I know DeVonta Smith well enough that he’ll continue to go through his process, and that’s what’s made him the player that he has been.”
Wicks will miss the Cowboys game with an ankle injury.
With Wicks and Smith out, rookie Makai Lemon and second-year player Darius Cooper will start at wide receiver. Elijah Moore and Hollywood Brown will fight for No. 3 WR snaps.
Safety Michael Carter (abdomen) and edge rusher Nolan Smith (concussion) were also ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Cowboys.
The Eagles designated star running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) and edge rusher Jonathan Greenard (ankle) as questionable. Third-year edge rusher Jalyx Hunt (knee/ankle) is also questionable.
