One of the seven men standing trial for the murder of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes nodded off in court as graphic slow-motion shooting footage was presented as evidence. The moment, captured on camera inside the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban, sparked fury online after News24 shared footage of the proceedings on Monday, 26 October 2026.
Accused Malusi Ndimande was filmed with his head resting on the judge's bench, apparently asleep, while CCTV surveillance footage of the fatal shooting played on a TV screen in the courtroom. The remaining six accused watched the footage without any visible reaction, according to court reports.
AKA Shooting Evidence Presented in Court
Constable Rajen Saunders, who holds extensive training in CCTV and video surveillance analysis, guided the court through the footage frame by frame, describing the moment AKA collapsed to the ground after the first spark from the gunshot appeared on screen. None of the accused flinched during the presentation.
Forbes and his close friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane were shot and killed on Florida Road in Durban in February 2023. All seven accused have pleaded not guilty to a combined 19 charges, which include two counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder.

@gcwabe17 was shocked:
"Yooo means most of we don't know life those people took someone's life but they don't look like they sorry or they sad about it yooo Hai."

"They really don't care."
@chizhanjemabvukutafarabhobo:
"It seems these guys got a bigger backup; they know the court is wasting time."

"Put each of them in isolation for a month. And allow this horrific act to sink in. It's like they don't care."
