Planning Your Cape Town in November
November is late spring in Cape Town: mild to warm days, cool evenings and increasing sunshine. The south-easterly wind can pick up without warning, especially on the Atlantic seaboard and in exposed parts of the City Bowl.
Carry a light layer even on bright days.South Africa has an additional national public holiday on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, declared for local government elections.
It is Election Day, so polling stations are open and many banks and offices will be closed. Check opening hours before planning errands that day.
For getting around at night, use ride-hailing apps or pre-booked taxis rather than walking long distances after dark. The City Bowl, Atlantic seaboard and southern suburbs are generally well served, but distances between venues can be large.
Check the last train or bus time if you rely on public transport.
Ticket sellers vary by event: Quicket (a South African ticketing platform) sells Taste of Cape Town and Italy in Town, Fever (a global ticketing app) sells The Jury Experience and the Queen vs. ABBA candlelight concert, and Webtickets (a South African ticketing platform) sells Leon Bridges. For the other events, open the venue or organiser page before buying.
When a price or opening time is missing, contact the venue or organiser directly before you commit to travel. Programmes can change, as the cancellation of Jill Scott’s 11 November Cape Town concert on 19 October showed.
