Ekiti governor, Biodun Oyebanji
Governor Biodun Oyebanji has sought the Ekiti State House of Assembly’s approval to reappoint three commissioners and appoint 10 special advisers.
In a statement on Monday, Olayinka Oyebode, the governor’s spokesman, said the request was made in a letter addressed to the speaker of the assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, on Monday, barely 10 days after his inauguration for a second term.
Mr Oyebanji nominated Dayo Apata as attorney general and commissioner for justice, Akintunde Oyebode as finance commissioner, and Oyebanji Filani as health commissioner.
The statement said the proposed appointments were aimed at constituting key components of the administration early and ensuring continuity in critical sectors of governance.
It added that the justice, finance and health portfolios were crucial to the effective take-off of the second-term administration.
“The request for the confirmation of the nominees comes as the administration begins its second term, with a focus on sustaining governance and strengthening service delivery across the state,” he said.
