Galaxy Corporation, a physical artificial intelligence entertainment company, has opened its second robot park in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, following its first venue in Seoul.
The company said on the 27th that it unveiled "Galaxy Robot Arena Dubai" at a press conference held on the 23rd at Reel Cinemas in the Dubai Mall. The venue combines robot performances and hands-on experiences with an existing movie theater, developed in partnership with Emaar Entertainment and Reel Cinemas.
In May this year, Galaxy Corporation opened its first robot park, a roughly 16,500-square-meter robot culture complex called "Galaxy Robot Park," in Godeok-dong, Gangdong District, Seoul. Since its official opening in August, the venue has featured humanoid robots performing K-pop group choreography and boxing routines, along with robot-drawn portraits and programs that let visitors operate the robots themselves.
Robot Arena Dubai is the company's second robot entertainment venue and its first overseas site. Galaxy Corporation is also working to open a robot performance venue in New York. Having recently established a Middle East subsidiary, the company plans to use Dubai as its local base for expanding into the Middle Eastern market. It intends to extend the robot arena business to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore.
"A challenge that began in Seoul has passed through New York and now extends to Dubai," said Choi Yong-ho, founder and chief executive of Galaxy Corporation. "What we want to build is not simply a robot performance venue but a future in which humans and robots live together."
