The new Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Al-Salheen Abdelnabi, has called on members to convene an official session in the city of Sebha next Monday, 2 November, to resume the House’s agenda.
It will be recalled that, in a political groundbreaking move, there were reports that Speaker Abdelnabi was planning to visit Tripoli before this Sebha HoR session. The visit would have been a huge act of reproachment between the two long-conflicting western and eastern Libyan political blocs.
However, there are now doubts as to when this visit will take place. It will be recalled that Abdelnabi’s predecessor, Ageela Saleh, had never visited Tripoli in his role as HoR Speaker.
