Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the trial run for the Namo Yamuna River Cruise ahead of Chhath Puja, marking a key milestone in developing riverfront tourism. Operating along a five-kilometre stretch from Wazirabad to Jagatpur, the eco-friendly safari accommodates 30 to 40 passengers. Officials noted the section upstream of Wazirabad was selected due to deeper and comparatively cleaner waters. While the initiative aims to offer a scenic recreational retreat, comprehensive cleaning of the broader 15-kilometre stretch towards Kalindi Kunj remains underway through new sewage treatment plants and drain diversion projects under an 8,910-crore rupee central plan.

Serbia Election: Student-Led Anti-Corruption Movement Ousts Vucic After 14 Years
A youth-backed anti-corruption coalition known as the Student List has achieved a historic victory in Serbia's parliamentary election, bringing an end to 14 years of rule by Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party. Aided by a 70% voter turnout, the movement is projected to secure a majority with 135 to 140 seats in the 250-member parliament. The political formation arose from two years of continuous student protests following the November 2024 Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse that claimed 16 lives. Instead of relying on career politicians, the party fielded everyday citizens, including doctors, academics, and farmers. Vucic conceded defeat on election night, marking a peaceful transition of power amid celebrations in Belgrade.
UP Polls: Asaduddin Owaisi Attacks SP Over Muzaffarnagar Riots, Demands Muslim Leadership

Questioning the Samajwadi Party over the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, Owaisi questioned why the party's Muslim legislators failed to protect the community. He raised the slogan calling for independent Muslim political leadership and asserted that Muslims need their own leaders rather than remaining dependent on the Samajwadi Party. Highlighting issues of representation, Owaisi accused the Yadav family of retaining parliamentary and assembly seats across constituencies while taking minority support for granted, raising political contestation ahead of the upcoming polls.
