Giants’ John Harbaugh earns Phil Jackson comparison over Cam Skattebo drama appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
On Sunday, the New York Giants improved to 4-2-1 on the 2026 season with a narrow road win over the Houston Texans. Cam Skattebo was back in the field for the Giants in this one after being benched last week for his fumbling issues in the prior game against the Washington Commanders.
Opinions on head coach John Harbaugh’s decision to bench Skattebo were mixed, but one person who liked the idea was sports media personality Josina Anderson, comparing the decision to something that legendary NBA head coach Phil Jackson would do.
“Jackson didn’t just get 11 rings just because he had Jordan, Kobe, and Shaq, or by mastering the triangle offense courtesy of Tex Winter… one big method to Phil’s magic was knowing how to orchestrate a symphony of personalities toward one goal… being a good head coach… is about knowing how to take the pulse of the team and also engineer the emotions within your time at precisely the right time,” she said, per her account on X, formerly Twitter.

Skattebo certainly seemed to resonate well with the message based on his performance on Sunday, as he broke off some big runs, including one in overtime to put the Giants deep in Texans territory, to help his team earn arguably its most impressive win of the season to date.
Harbaugh has long been known to be able to juggle different personalities within the same locker room, and it seems that he’s working that magic to a tee so far during his tenure in New York.
In any case, the Giants will next hit the field on November 8 on the road vs the Philadelphia Eagles after a bye week.
