CoreWeave now has a Danish address. The AI-focused cloud provider said it has brought online the majority of a planned 22.5 MW IT capacity deployment at the atNorth DEN01 data center in Copenhagen.
The company paired that news with a much bigger ambition: its first Global AI Network backbone. The plan is to wire its sprawling data center footprint into a single high-performance fabric that spans continents.
What’s running in Copenhagen
CoreWeave, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker CRWV, made the announcement on October 27, 2026. The Copenhagen facility is its first operational site in Denmark.
Not all of the 22.5 MW is live yet. The company described the activation as the majority of its planned deployment, so some capacity is still on the way.
Inside, the hardware list reads like a GPU enthusiast’s wish list. The site runs NVIDIA Blackwell systems, connected using NVIDIA’s Quantum-X800 InfiniBand networking technology.
Denmark also pushes CoreWeave’s European footprint to nine data centers across five countries. The full roster now includes the UK, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
There’s a sustainability wrinkle too. The Copenhagen site has a heat-reuse agreement that sends surplus heat from the data center into the city’s district heating network.
A backbone for 51-plus data centers
The second half of the announcement may matter more over the long run. CoreWeave is extending its Global AI Network backbone with new points of presence, or PoPs, in seven additional markets.
Those markets are the UAE, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, South Korea and Japan.
The rollout is set to start in late Q4 2026. CoreWeave anticipates full completion by mid-2027.
The goal is to link CoreWeave’s more than 51 active data centers into one connected fabric. Collectively, those sites carry over 1.5 GW of active power capacity built for AI applications.
From mining rigs to model training
CoreWeave’s origin story has a crypto chapter that many of today’s AI customers might not know. The company started out mining Ethereum before shifting its GPU resources entirely toward cloud services.
The company went public on Nasdaq in March 2025.
Its customer list helps explain why. CoreWeave counts nine of the top ten foundation model providers as clients, the companies building the large AI models that power chatbots and other tools.
What this means
For investors watching CRWV, the Denmark launch is more about direction than scale. Adding a ninth European data center shows CoreWeave is still spreading its footprint geographically rather than concentrating it in a handful of locations.
The seven new markets are also worth noting. Expanding into the UAE, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, South Korea and Japan points CoreWeave toward the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, regions where it currently has far less presence than in Europe.
Customer concentration is another factor to monitor. Serving nine of the top ten foundation model providers is a strong endorsement, but it also ties CoreWeave’s revenue closely to a small group of buyers and their budgets.
The heat-reuse deal is a smaller detail with broader implications. As AI data centers draw more scrutiny over energy use, arrangements that feed waste heat into local networks could become a useful selling point with cities and regulators.
What to watch next: whether the remaining Copenhagen capacity comes online, and whether the first new PoPs actually start appearing in late Q4 2026 as planned.
