MEGAWIDE Construction Corp. has completed P1.2 billion worth of horizontal housing projects, expanding its track record in residential construction as it targets higher earnings this year.
“Horizontal housing development presents a distinct set of challenges because it involves delivering an entire community with speed, consistency and efficiency,” Megawide Construction Corp. Chief Operating Officer Frederick T. Tan said in a statement on Monday.
The company said it completed Northscapes San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, a P575-million project developed by its real estate unit PH1 World Developers, Inc.
It also turned over three residential blocks comprising 40 units at Southscapes Trece Martires in Cavite under a P593-million contract.
Northscapes covers up to 329 housing units within a 4.6-hectare community in San Jose del Monte and was completed on Oct. 15, less than three years after construction started.
Megawide said the project demonstrates the application of its integrated engineering, procurement, and construction model in horizontal housing developments.
Southscapes, meanwhile, is PH1 World Developers, Inc.’s first horizontal housing project in Cavite. The five-hectare development will have 394 housing units.
“Our vision is to make quality homes more accessible to Filipino families,” PH1 World Developers, Inc. President Gigi G. Alcantara said. “Working with Megawide enables us to adopt a more coordinated approach that brings greater consistency and efficiency to our developments.”
For 2026, Megawide is targeting net income of about P1.2 billion, supported by lower borrowing costs and growth in its construction and real estate businesses.
For the six months ended June, attributable net income rose 22.5% to P532.7 million from a year earlier. Revenue increased 1.2% to P8.7 billion.
Megawide shares rose 0.19% or a centavo to close at P5.19 each. — Ashley Erika O. Jose
