Colombo, Oct 26 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has congratulated Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his electoral victory, saying the outcome reflected the people’s rejection of corruption, political divisions and misinformation.
In a message posted on X, President Dissanayake said the Brazilian people had defeated “the forces of corruption, division and political lies” through their vote.
He said Lula’s victory demonstrated that people could not be deceived by political dynasties or those who believed power was more important than justice.
“Many congratulations, companheiro, for leading the march of progress yet again!” Dissanayake said, congratulating Lula on his victory.
