Why Tarik Skubal ‘doesn’t buy’ Dodgers’ World Series window is closed appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Milwaukee Brewers are on the cusp of winning the World Series. No matter who wins this year’s Fall Classic, they will be the first new World Series champion since 2023. The Los Angeles Dodgers won it all in 2024 and 2025.
Los Angeles wanted to do so again in 2026. They traded for Tarik Skubal, a pending free agent, in an effort to bolster their pitching staff for the run ahead. Los Angeles fell in the NLCS to the Brewers. But Skubal isn’t a fan of people saying that the Dodgers’ window is closed.
“I don’t feel that at all. It’s hard to win the World Series and this group has done it the last two seasons. I think this group is incredibly talented,” Skubal said, via Dodgers Nation and Maddie Lee of the LA Times.

Skubal split the 2026 season between the Detroit Tigers and the Dodgers. He had some brilliant moments with Los Angeles following his early August trade out West. He finished the regular season with a 12-7 record and a 2.76 ERA.
The Dodgers made the NLCS for the third straight season. As mentioned, though, they were defeated by the Brewers. More than that, the series wasn’t much of a contest. Milwaukee swept the Dodgers in four games to reach the World Series.
It’s not a question of talent for Los Angeles. This team certainly has the talent to make another run at it. They just need to put it all together again in 2027. Whether Skubal will be there for the Dodgers’ next attempt at the World Series remains to be seen.
