AUBURN — After leaving Auburn football's loss to LSU with an apparent injury, starting offensive lineman Jacob Strand "will be fine as we go here," head coach Alex Golesh said, Monday, Oct. 26.
Golesh did not address Strand's health further, nor his playing status four days before the Tigers face No. 12 Ole Miss, on Saturday, Oct. 31 (11:45 a.m. CT, SECN), in Oxford, Mississippi.
An Oregon State transfer, Strand settled into a starting guard spot during Auburn's preseason. After two games, he did not see the field in a loss to Florida and was eventually reshuffled to starting left tackle.
Strand made his first start at left tackle in Auburn's win against Vanderbilt and has since split snaps at the position with James Madison transfer Jo Simmons.
In Auburn's loss to LSU, Strand surrendered two pressures, was responsible for one sack and also penalized once, according to Pro Football Focus. He appeared to suffer a non-contact injury, tapping his helmet in the aftermath of a play and eventually leaving the field under his own power.
