The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Kuwait Chapter (ICAIKC), brought its members and families together through sport and fellowship as it hosted its first-ever padel tournament on October 16 at ORO Padel Academy, Regency Hotel, Kuwait.
The inaugural tournament marked a new milestone for the Chapter, extending its activities beyond professional development to promote an active lifestyle, strengthen personal connections and encourage greater interaction among members and their families.
Competitions were held in three categories, Kids, Women’s and Men’s, creating an engaging day of friendly rivalry, teamwork and sportsmanship. Players and spectators remained involved throughout the matches, with trophies presented to the champions and runners-up in each category in recognition of their performances.
Champions and runners-up
In the Kids category for participants aged 10 to 14, Akshaj Badida and Arjun Arora claimed the championship. Advik Agarwal and Ayushman Agarwal finished as runners-up.
In the women’s category, CA Tasneem Presswala and Charanya Sriram secured the title. CA Sweta Chipra and Bhavini Bagaria finished in second place.
The men’s category saw CAs Mohit Bhatia and Harish Thakor emerge as champions, followed by Parminder Singh and Gaurav Handa as runners-up. Tobin Mani and Mathew Kurian secured the second runners-up position.
Sport builds stronger professional bonds
CA Venkata Ramana Badida, chairperson of ICAI Kuwait Chapter, congratulated all participants and winners, and praised the organising team led by CA Jatin Bagaria for developing the concept and ensuring the smooth conduct of the tournament.
He highlighted the value of sporting initiatives in fostering teamwork, discipline and perseverance while helping members build meaningful relationships beyond their professional responsibilities.
Badida also thanked the referees — CA Harinder Nagi, Karan Oberoi, Manu Sharma and Sidharth Jain — for officiating the matches and helping the tournament run smoothly. Tokens of appreciation were presented to them in recognition of their contribution.
The Chapter acknowledged the continued support of its annual sponsors, whose contributions support its activities and initiatives. Media partner The Times Kuwait was also recognised for helping extend the event’s reach across the community.
Beyond professional development
The tournament reflects ICAI Kuwait Chapter’s wider efforts to create opportunities for members and their families to connect outside the workplace. Alongside its technical programmes and professional development activities, the Chapter continues to encourage initiatives focused on wellness, physical activity and community engagement.

More than a sporting competition, the inaugural tournament offered members and their families an opportunity to share experiences, build friendships and strengthen their sense of belonging. Building on the first edition, the Chapter looks forward to organising further activities that bring the community together through sport and shared interests.
