A court on Monday extended the police custody of four people arrested for allegedly aiding the shooters in the Tiger Shroff firing case until October 28, after investigators said they needed to collect voice samples.
Four of the 11 people arrested for allegedly aiding the shooters in the Tiger Shroff firing case — Kunal (21) and Sumit (19) from Haryana's Sonipat, and Radha (23) and Babita (23) from Uttar Pradesh — had their police custody extended till October 28 by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate S Khedkar on Monday.
Police told the court they have recovered two pistols and cartridges used in the crime and need to collect the accused's voice samples and verify data from their phones, including photos and videos of the weapons. Investigators said Radha delivered a weapon provided by Kunal in Mumbai, the two women booked a hotel using fake IDs, and all four travelled to Amritsar to procure arms before smuggling them to Mumbai by train. They were allegedly in touch with wanted accused Anil Pandit via Signal.
The defence, represented by Ajinkya Migral, opposed the extension, arguing that confrontation could be done in jail.
The court extended custody till October 28.
On October 18, at least two men fired five to six rounds at Shroff's car in Juhu and fled on a motorcycle later found abandoned in Andheri. Shroff escaped unhurt, while his driver and a bystander were injured.
