A K-Pop boy group idol expressed pride in his former agency JYP Entertainment and revealed his ongoing connection with producer Park Jin Young (also known as J.Y. Park).
On October 27th, GOT7‘s Jay B conducted and interview and spoke about his group’s contribution to JYP Entertainment’s revenue, saying, “It feels like we covered from the basement to the third floor. We actually generated quite a lot of revenue. It’s a bit unfortunate that it’s not widely known.”

Jay B debuted as a member of GOT7 in 2014 and continued group activities under JYP Entertainment until his exclusive contract expired in 2021, after which he pursued independent activities. Currently, based at his agency 528Hz, he personally designs everything from planning solo albums to music and stage direction according to his artistic vision.
He said, “Big agencies can collaborate on large projects and also manage the risks well. But as a trade-off, autonomy and independence tend to be lower.”
He continued, “Doing things alone gives you a lot of autonomy and independence, but I believe you have to take full responsibility. That’s the difference I feel most, and it’s definitely significant.”

Although Jay B left JYP Entertainment and secured control over his music, his relationship with producer Park Jin Young remains strong. He revealed, “Before this single came out, I met hyung Jin Young and we had a meal while talking.”
He also shared a story about being nervous when presenting his new song. “I was worried about being scolded, so I almost didn’t play it for him, but I gathered the courage and showed it. He really liked it.”
He added, “I’ve heard him say he liked my songs before, but it was the first time he asked, ‘Do you have a choreography video?’ After watching the choreography video, he definitely liked it. I thought that was typical of hyung’s style.”
