DODOMA: THE Tanzanian government has introduced the e-Delivery System to strengthen the management and monitoring of national development plans and projects, ensuring their outcomes contribute to the objectives of the National Development Vision 2050.
Deputy Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Dr Pius Chaya, announced this on Tuesday while responding to a question from Magomeni Member of Parliament Imamu Mtumwa Vuai on how the government would ensure the system enables Parliament and the public to assess progress towards achieving Vision 2050 targets.
Dr Chaya explained that the system integrates long-, medium- and short-term development plans, including the Long-Term Development Plan for 2026/27–2050/51, the Fourth Five-Year Development Plan (FYDP IV), sectoral and regional plans, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
He said the integration would enable the implementation of these plans to be monitored against national development priorities and targets.

Chaya added that the government had trained approximately 940 public servants from ministries, institutions, regions and local government authorities on how to use the system.
He urged all public institutions to use e-Delivery at every stage of project management, from project identification, preparation and approval to monitoring and evaluation. He also emphasised the need for timely submission of implementation reports.
The deputy minister said all ongoing development projects should be registered in the system to facilitate progress tracking and assess their contribution to achieving Vision 2050 objectives.
Through the system’s dashboards, Parliament and members of the public will be able to access information on the implementation of development plans and projects. This is expected to strengthen transparency and accountability while enabling the public to assess the results of the government’s efforts to implement Vision 2050.
